Hi and welcome to Myriad Interiors, my name is Alex and I thought I’d tell you about about myself and my business. 

 

I am based in the Devon countryside, I was born and raised locally and never moved far. When you live in such a beautiful part why go anywhere else! 

I have a teenage son who is my world, I had him when I was 20 and looking after him and giving him everything he needed/needs quickly became my main focus, once he went to school I chose to go to university and complete a degree.

Once I completed my degree I ended up working in my village pub as it worked well around being a mum. 

 

Roll on a few years and I hit a huge hurdle and pretty low point in my life when I was diagnosed with cancer. I had to give up my job to focus on my treatment. With extra time on my hands I found refurbishing my furniture a very helpful creative output. When people saw what I had created I received several commissions and Myriad Interiors had started its first few steps. 

 

In the years since then, I am in remission and Myriad Interiors has grown from cluttering up my lounge to out growing two workshops to the huge work space I have now.

The last few years have been an incredibly steep learning curve but incredibly rewarding. I still challenge myself daily to learn new techniques, this combined with my attention to detail means a plethora of styles leave my shop.... But nothing leaves until I am 100% happy with it! 

 

I sell newly refurbished furniture in my online shop but I also get a buzz from working with customers sourcing their perfect items and exacting their specifications while incorporating my own artistic flair to produce some truly special pieces.
